Btw the 2015 hybrid engine was a direct fit even if websites say they are not. 12V battery is fine as wellīig Update: I replaced my Kia optima hybrid 2012 engine after it locked/seized up with a 2015 Hybrid engine. Every time I try to turn it on, the engine just will not start and I get the "Hybrid system warning safely stop and do not drive". Any suggestions? I can provide pictures if needed. I assume they will plug it into a reader but I have already cleared the codes. Should I take the L and take it to the dealership? They are charging $150 for diagnostic fees. I took this part out and tested it, and it is working. Further research suggested that the power relay assembly inside the actual hybrid battery was not working ref. This fuse is part of the safety plug located in the trunk. After some research, I decided to replace the orange battery fuse from a 125 amp to a 150 amp. Unfortunately, I had to pull the car home. The gauge for the hybrid battery was not showing any bars on the dash. Car would not start, I smelled like some burnt rubber or something coming from the front. I cleared the codes which was an engine failed to start code. I turned off the car and tried to start it again and I got the "Hybrid system warning safely stop and do not drive". Luckily I was able to exit into some road. The car would not accelerate creating a dangerous situation. I was driving down the highway passing up a car and all of a sudden I lost power. I am at a lost for my Kia Optima Hybrid 2012.
